Injured in private parts, 6-year-old dies

New Delhi [India], Feb 2 (ANI): A six-year-old girl admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital yesterday with injuries to private parts, died on Friday.

The child was in decompensated septic shock with respiratory failure and multi-organ dysfunction.

The doctors, who treated the girl, suspected sexual assault and the body has now been sent for post-mortem.

However, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Outer of Delhi Police has said that the girl died due to severe infection.

"The 6-year-old girl died due to severe infection. So far, neither the family members nor medical reports suggest any sexual assault. We are awaiting postmortem report," the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Outer, Delhi Police said.
