Hirakhand Express derailment: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu announces inquiry

New Delhi: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the Andhra Pradesh train mishap in the Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Express derailment. The Commissioner Railway Safety will conduct a detailed inquiry into the train mishap and submit the report at the earliest, Railway spokesperson Anil Saxena said. Railway Minister Sureshp Prabhu along with Chairman Railway Board have rushed to site. Four coaches out of eight derailed have been capsized in the accident killing 36 passengers and injuring more than 50. This is the third serious train accident in the last three months with the last two happened near Kanpur. NDRF team on spot One NDRF team from Visakhapatnam was present at the Hirakhand Express derailment site in Andhra Pradesh and four teams from Bhubaneswar were en route for rescue.
