Google Assistant to feature on more Android phones in India

New Delhi [India], Dec 14 (ANI): Tech giant Google on Thursday announced that its 'Assistant' feature which is already available across a number of devices and languages will now be available on supported phones running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Earlier this year, Google first brought the Assistant to Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Google Play Services. With this new addition more users will be able to experience the Google Assistant.

"With this our aim is to ensure that more and more Indians can get help from the Google Assistant. The Google Assistant on Android 5.0 Lollipop has started to roll out to users with the language set to English in the U.S., UK, India, Australia, Canada and Singapore, as well as in Spanish in the U.S., Mexico and Spain. It's also rolling out to users in Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil and Korea. Once you get the update and opt-in, you'll see an Assistant app icon in your "All apps" list," said Maksim Mukha, Program Manager, Google Assistant.

Google Assistant will automatically come to eligible Android phones running Nougat and Marshmallow with Google Play Services, along with select new partner devices. (ANI)
