Former Chief Justice of India JS Verma dies

New Delhi: Former chief justice of India and head of anti-rape
committee, JS Verma dies in Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital.




He was 80 years old and died of multiple organ failure.




Justice Verma was the 27th Chief Justice of India from 1997 to 1998 and
was famous for his verdicts.




He was architect of anti-rape report. He was associated with news TV
regulator NBSA for a part of time.




Justice Verma headed the 3-member commission which suggested a report
reviewing existing laws related to security of women in India.
