Foreign media’s ‘insensitive’ reporting on Amarnath terror attack, calls it ‘crossfire’

New Delhi: The outrageous incident of terror attack on the pilgrims travelling to Amarnath on Monday evening has been condemned by International leaders and various countries. But, the foreign media has taken a very insensitive stand on the heart-wrenching incident which killed 6 people and injured 19. It is shocking to see how the international media has reported the matter as ‘crossfire’ by militants after Indian officials ‘initiated’ firing. “At least seven Hindu pilgrims have been killed and 19 others wounded after the bus they were traveling in became caught in crossfire in Indian administered Kashmir, police have confirmed” a report by American news channel CNN said. The bus was returning from the hard-to-reach Himalayan cave shrine of Amarnath when terrorists fired at Botengoo, Monday night, on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, south of the capital Srinagar. As per the eye-witness of the incident, the terrorists opened fire at a bus all of as sudden killing various people. But, the wit of the bus driver who didn’t stop the bus before he reached a safe place saved the lives of the rest of the people. Even Government expressed solidarity on the incident on Wednesday after MoS (PMO) Jitendra Singh who was in Srinagar to take the stock of situation addressed media and said “the whole country condemned the terror attack on Amarnath Yatra. He further lauded the security forces and said that “Indian security forces are one of the best in the world”. He further added saying, “the attack wouldn’t scare the nation and therefore, the pilgrimage would continue”.
