EXCLUSIVE: Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit speaks to ABP News, seeks 'permanent solution to Kashmir issue'

New Delhi: In an exclusive interview with ABP News, Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Tuesday spoke about Indo-Pakistan relationships and the unrest at Line of Control, which is a matter of huge concern for both the countries. Basit began speaking on Kulbhushan Jadhav'e execution case and said that as per an agreement signed between India and Pakitsan, a consular access could be provided in a case like Jadhav's only on merital basis. He further said that "Jadhav is alive in Pakistan". Basit commented on the infiltration bid foiled by Pakistan Army in Poonch, where two Indian soldiers were mutilated after a ceasefire violation. Speaking on the matter, Basit blatantly distanced from the charges of mutilating Indian soldiers and said, "No beheading happened from Pakistan's end". Basit also commented on the viral video by ISPR (Inter-Services Public relations), where Indian forces could be seen destroying Pakistani posts and said, "the video was not credible and no such attack happened from India's end". Speaking on the Kashmir issue, Basit lauded Home Minister Rajnath Singh's recent statement on finding a permanent solution to Kashmir issue and said, "It is high time that the Kashmir's topic ends. A permanent solution on the same is a must".
