Demonetisation: No service charge will be levied on digital financial transactions, says Shaktikanta Das

New Delhi: The Economic Affairs Secretary (EAS) Shaktikanta Das today briefed the media and informed that government is taking steps "for the benefit of agricultural operations". "In current rabi season, for benefit of agricultural operations, NABARD has sanctioned a credit limit of ₹ 23,000 cr to DCCBs", he said and added-"NABARD has sanctioned Rs 21,000 crore limit to district central cooperative bank". Commenting further on demonetisation, he said-"Public sector banks have said that there has been a surge in demand for usage of digital financial transactions". "No service charge will be levied on digital financial transactions using feature phones till Dec 31st '16", EAS informed. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has refused to stay all hearings going on in various courts on demonetisation. However, it has issued notice to all petitioners seeking their reply.
