Delhi heat: AC installed at South Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar bus stand

New Delhi: As the mercury in Northern Part of the country is rising, with maximum temperatures touching 47 degree mark, an attempt to provide relief to the commuters, a bus stand in South Delhi has been equipped with air-conditioning facility.   The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus stand is located on the Ring Road at Lajpat Nagar. The national capital is reeling under heat wave with the temperature on Wednesday settling at 43 degrees Celsius mark in some parts of the city. The AC has been installed by a Japanese multinational air conditioner manufacturing company. A government official said that the company has installed the AC in cooperation with a private agency which has the advertisement right on DTC's bus stands. However, the maximum temperature on Thursday is likely to hover around 39 degrees Celsius. The Humidity at 8.30 a.m was recorded as 50 per cent. "The sky is likely to turn partly cloudy later during the day," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
