Curfew has been imposed in four police station areas of Jaipur after violence erupted in the city. Hundreds of people reportedly showed aggression towards the cops by stone pelting the police station in protest.(All images: ABP Live)
According to the commissioner of Police Sanjay Agarwal “Curfew has been imposed till further orders in Manak Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Galta Gate and Ramganj police station areas of the city following violence in which a police station was attacked and vehicles burnt,"
Primarily a policeman hit a person sitting on a motor bike while trying to stop him for a routine vehicle checking in Ramganj police station area. The man tried to run away in order to escape police and was hit with a lathi (baton)
Soon afterwards the situation turned violent as hundreds of people gathered at the police station and created ruckus. The mob started throwing stones and also attacked journalists according to the police due to which they had to use tear gas to disband the mob and get hold of the situation
One policeman has been killed while ten have been injured in the violent attack after which mobile internet services have also been suspended in affected parts of the city till further orders.
