Criminals breathing their last in UP: Yogi

NEW DELHI: Reiterating his government’s pledge to tackle lawbreakers with an iron hand, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Shikhar Sammelan said those who give protection to criminals in the state will also be treated as criminals. "Now, for every incident, an FIR is lodge. Previously it was not so. We have instructed the authorities to listen to complaints of every victim and provide effective results. As time will pass, you'll see the change," Adityanath said. "Crime will soon be at its lowest and will slowly end. We will come up with our report cards on 100 days, one month and one year of our government and change will be seen," he stressed. He said  his government will not only target criminals but their protectors also. "Those who give protection to criminals in the state will also be treated as criminals. They're breathing their last in UP," he said. The saffron clad BJP leader said good governance and development of the state are motto his government. On closure of abattoirs in state, chief minister said his government will follow guidelines of the Supreme Court and NGT. "Those slaughterhouses which are not in accordance with the set norms of NGT, will be shut," he said. On three years of Modi government Yogi said under Prime Minister's leadership India has emerged as global economic power. "After BJP came to power in Centre, a new era has begun. UPA has failed people, it couldn't fulfill people's expectation and they saw a ray of hope Narendra Modi," he said. "Crop insurance scheme was introduced for the farmers, Ujjwala scheme was launched for women. People now feel that government cares for them," he added. On confusion over his name, the firebrand leader said, "My name is listed as Adityanath Yogi in Election Commission voters list. So I took oath as Adityanath Yogi. Whereas among people I am known as Yogi Adityanath.
