New Delhi: Delhi Police's Crime Branch will soon initiate an
investigation into the death of a 66-year-old man, who was allegedly
shoved off by a constable during an argument with his son in south-west
Delhi two days ago. Following the incident, police had yesterday handed
over the investigations to Crime Branch from local police.

The
deceased Anil Kumar was travelling in a car with his son Mohit Arora (32),
both residents of Geeta Colony in east Delhi, when the incident took place
on Tuesday night in Delhi Cantt area.

According to the victim's
family, Anil Kumar had developed some uneasiness while travelling and
Mohit had stopped the car to fetch some water.

They claimed he
approached police constable Vikram Singh for help but he was on phone and
ignored the request. Mohit then fetched water himself and on his return
entered into an argument with the policemen.

The father tried to
intervene and was allegedly pushed away by the constable. Kumar fell on
the ground and lost consciousness, the family alleged.

The
elderly man was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital where he was declared
brought dead.

"Medical authorities on preliminary examination
have not indicated any external injuries on the body of the deceased,"
police said.
