Congress releases first list of LS candidates, 90 names declared

New Delhi: The Congress today, after the meeting of the party’s central election committee, has released its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2014. The list was released

 

Ninety names from five states have been cleared in the first list.

 

These are: Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand.

 

According to the party sources, many of these seats are those where the Congress had lost in the last Lok Sabha elections. The Congress list comes just a day after announcement of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party’s first list of its LS candidates.

 

The AAP had announced the names of 20 candidates who will take on high profile candidates like Rahul Gandhi, Nitin Gadkari, Kapil Sibal, Milind Deora, Salman Khursheed, Suresh Kalmadi, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Ajit Singh and Manish Tewari.

 

The BJP will release its first list of LS candidates in upcoming 10 days.
