On Sunday, it was a very close competition but the INLD candidate was defeated by Congress candidate Jai Tirath and the margin was just three votes.
After all phase of counting, Tirath managed to get 36703 votes while Inderjeet could only get 36700 votes.
BJP candidate Krishna Gahlawat got 34523 votes and ended up at third spot in the fray.
Out of 90 seats of the state legislature, Congress managed to win 15 seats while INLD, the runner-up of the polls registered victory on 19 seats.
The saffron party was emerged as largest party in the state and will form government.
