Chhattisgarh: Six naxals killed in encounter, arms recovered

Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], November 7 (ANI): Atleast six naxals were killed by security forces in an encounter in Abhujhmargh Prahaar in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.

The security forces recovered nine weapons from the encounter site and destroyed a few naxals camps in Sukma area.

Director General of Police, DM Awasthi said, "Operation prahaar-2 was taken into action last night. Naxals were allegedly tasked with collecting ration for ultras, arranging a meeting of villagers, spreading maoist propaganda and planting IEDs to harm security forces."

"Weapons that were recovered were two .303 rifles and four 315 bore rifle," he added.

Narayanpur district is insurgency-hit area in the state. Last month, seven naxals were arrested along with a firearm and some explosives. (ANI)
