Chhattisgarh: Encounter between security forces, Maoists underway in Dantewada's Aranpur range

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], August 17, (ANI): An encounter between security forces and Maoists is currently underway in Dantewada's Aranpur range in Chhattisgarh.

The encounter started at around 2.00 p.m. on Thursday near Chotte Hirma- Gumodi jungle of Aranpur region bordering Dantewada and Sukma of Chhattisgarh.

It is a joint operation conducted by District Reserve Guards (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) team of Dantewada and Sukma supported by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops.

DIG of Dantewada range Sundarraj P informed that police forces are safe and have recovered Naxal campaigning materials from the site.

On August 13, two Maoists were killed in encounter with security forces in Sukma district of the state. (ANI)
