Panaji (Goa) [India], Jan 20 (ANI): The Central Government will review various Smart City projects implemented in Goa, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri said on Saturday.

Puri, who is in the Goan capital to attend a session on- 'The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development', said that the delegation from the urban development and housing ministry will review the smart city projects in Panaji and in the entire state.

Puri told ANI, "To better review these projects, we have introduced a star-rating protocol on garbage management. It will be ranked between 1 to 7. We are doing this in Goa since the state has shown the way forward in waste management, as facilities here are proper and organised".

The union minister added that the review of Smart City projects such as Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Smart Cities Mission, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Awaz Yojana was done with Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and was optimistic on the results.

"These central urban schemes introduced here have benefitted Goa. In some places, the progress has been good. While some places, have seen slow progress. We are optimistic that the progress would be excellent in the state in the next six months", Puri said. (ANI)
