Centre, Bihar Govt. will do everything possible for state's growth: PM Modi

Mokama (Bihar) [India], October 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday assured the people of Bihar that the Centre and the state government will do everything possible for growth of the state.

"I congratulate Nitish Kumar and his team for supporting Central Government's initiatives and helping out to solve the issues. I assure you the Centre and Bihar Government will do everything possible for Bihar's growth," he said while addressing a public meeting in Mokama after laying the foundation stone of projects under Namami Gange program.

In a scathing attack on Opposition, the Prime Minister said that there are few people in the country whose ideology was a reason in taking country backward.

"There are few people in the country, whose ideology was the reason for taking country backward," he added.

He further said, "I meet several people from rural India. We are working tirelessly to fulfill their aspirations. And, projects whose foundation stones are being laid, will give impetus to Bihar's development."

"We are focusing on increased pace as far as road construction is concerned. The projects related to Namami Gange will help preserve the Ganga. The recent Antyodaya expresses flagged off will improve connectivity between Bihar, eastern India and other parts," he added.

He further assured that the focus of the government will be on roads, railways, and waterways as the proper connectivity will lead to greater development.

The Prime Minister was at the program to lay the foundation stone of projects under Namami Gange and National Highway projects in Bihar.

Prime Minister Modi also said that the Railway Ministry has announced four special trains, so that people in Bihar and north-eastern Uttar Pradesh won't have any difficulty in reaching home for Diwali and Chhath Puja.

This was the first time in nearly eight years that Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar came together to share the stage. (ANI)
