BJP's Subramanian Swami says Rama temple will be constructed, SP's Azam Khan terms it unlawful

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swami has said that the Rama Temple will be built in the Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh. The party has promised in its manifesto that it will construct the temple, so we have to fulfill the promise, said Swami. It is pertinent to mention here that, BJP has decided to build Ramayana Museum just a few kilometers away from the disputed land where Lord Rama is presently residing. Tourism and Cultural Minister Mahesh Sharma, on Tuesday, visited the city to inspect the land chosen for the purpose. He also gave a long speech after inspecting the land. The move of BJP has triggered a political storm in the state. What RSS says: On Wednesday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) ideologue Professor Rakesh Sinha said that the Sangh Parivar and Hindu Samaj are very determined about building the Rama temple in Ayodhya and the same will be built anyhow. “The Sangh Parivar and Hindu Samaj are very determined about building of the ram temple. There are no relations between museum and Ram temple,” he said. Lollipop comment: BJP MP Vinay Katiyar, a hardliner came down heavily on the issue and said Ramayana Museum in Ayodhya is a mere ‘lollipop’. “We want nothing less than the Rama Mandir in Ayodhya, we won’t be happy with this lollipop,” he said. Samajwadi Party's view: However, Azam Khan of Samajwadi Party (SP) has critisied the move and said that this work (of construction of Rama Temple) can be done by only those who do not believe in the law of the land. Another leader of SP Shivpal Yadav said that as the state Assembly election comes near, the BJP raises the topic of Lord Rama. Congress Party's take: The Congress Party has accused the BJP of selling the name of Lord Ram to sail through Uttar Pradesh Assembly election due in 2017. “The Congress has nothing to do with the BJP constructing a museum there (Ayodhya), or the Samajwadi party organising things for the Ramayan mela. The BJP is selling the name of Lord Rama in the poll bound state,” said Congress leader D.P. Singh.
