BJP alleges GJM supporters pushed Dilip Ghosh, manhandled two other party workers

Darjeeeling (West Bengal), October 5 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said that two party workers were manhandled allegedly by the supporters of rebel Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leader Binay Tamang in Darjeeling.

Asserting that it was a pre-planned attack, BJP West Bengal president Dilip Ghosh apprised that even he was pushed.

Talking to the media, Ghosh said, "Two BJP workers were allegedly manhandled by the supporters of rebel GJM leader Binay Tamang. This is a pre-planned attack. I went to protect my workers as they were wounded, even I was pushed."

The incident took place during Ghosh's three-day visit to the hills following unrest over the demand for a separate state.

This is the second day of the BJP delegation's visit to the hills.

The GJM had withdrawn the indefinite shutdown, held over the demand for a separate state, in Darjeeling hills on September 26 following Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's appeal to restore normalcy in the area. (ANI)
