New Delhi: Sushil Modi, on Thursday, became the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar after Nitish Kumar dropped RJD and shaked hands with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. Here are five interesting facts about Sushil Modi:
  • Sushil Modi earlier served as Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2013.
  • Sushil Modi is a lifelong member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
  • Sushil Modi was appointed the Chairman of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers for the Implementation of Goods and Service Tax in July 2011.
  • In 1962, during Sino-Indian War of 1962, Modi was active in organising and mobilising the school students. He was appointed Commandment by the Civil Defence to train the civilians and students to maintain their physical fitness.
  • In 2005 Bihar election, NDA came to power and Modi was elected the leader of Bihar BJP Legislature Party. He took over as the Deputy Chief Minister. In 2010, after NDA victory in Bihar elections, he continued to be the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.
