Baffled Lalu attacks Nitish, says ‘Had corruption charges even before JDU allied with us’

Bihar: Hours after Nitish Kumar played his card of resigning from the government and joining hands with BJP stating corruption ‘allegations’ slapped against former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav as his reason; RJD Chief Lalu Yadav made a public attack on Nitish and said, “Corruption charges against our party prevailed before Nitish shook hands with us, wasn’t Nitish aware of this before?” Nitish’s resignation came as an aftermath of the prolonged tussle between RJD and JD(U) which came days after Lalu’s and son Tejaswhi’s name cropped up in an ‘illegal land allocation’ case following CBI raids at locations related to him. Nitish had earlier indirectly sought a resignation from Tejashwi, and had also met Rahul Gandhi regarding the same, but RJD blatantly denied possibility of Deputy CM’s resignation and infact in a press conference held by Lalu, he claimed that Nitish and him are in good terms and he has never sought Tejashwi’s resignation. On the other hand, Nitish’s major step has came as a storm in Bihar politics, as only hours after claiming strong bond with Nitish, Lalu began spewing venom on Nitish for playing “dirty politics with hand in glove with BJP and RSS”. On joining the dots of  various major decisions taken by Nitish in last few months, like supporting the NDA candidate for Presidential election, Nitish threw several hints at RJD of his inclination towards BJP. Lalu on the other hand was defiant and failed to take Nitish’s hints.
