As Monsoon Session of Parliament begins tomorrow, parties go in a huddle on Sunday

New Delhi:  With the Monsoon session of parliament set to begin from Monday, all parties are getting into huddle to discuss their strategies and stands for the presidential elections. As per sources, NDA which is yet to come up with their candidate for the Vice Presidential elections are set to make the name public on Sunday against UPA’s Vice presidential candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi. 11am: Modi Government has on Sunday called an all party meeting of NDA in Parliament library. Parliamentary affairs Minister Anant Kumar would head the meeting. A discussion on resuming the house peacefully is likely to take place. But, it is highly unlikely for opposition to let the house run peacefully and is likely to attack Government on various issues like Amarnath Attack, Indo-China border rift and Kashmir. TMC on Sunday declined Govenrment's invitation to all-party meet and said, "it would only attend meeting called by speaker Sumitra Mahajan". 2pm: After holding an all party meet, BJP’s parliamentary board meeting would take place at party’s head office, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party boss Amit Shah would also be present. The party is likely to decide upon the name of Vice President Candidate. NDA’s Presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind will also be present in the meeting. 5 pm: NDA would hold another meeting in parliament library, but this time the opposition would not be a part of the meeting. A discussion on Vice Presidential and Presidential election is set to take place in the meeting. 7pm: Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan has called an all party meet at Parliament’s library, which she would appeal all the parties to let the processions of the parliament happen peacefully.   This Monsoon Session is very important for Modi Government, as the Government has a burden of getting pending18 bills passed in the upcoming session on its head, other than Presidential and Vice Presidential elections. Some of the bills include whistle blower protection bill, national backward section committee bill, Indian Institute of Management bill, anti-corruption bill and National Sports University bill. The monsoon session would end on August 12.
