Kejriwal to attend Mother Teresa's canonisation ceremony in Rome
NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Arvind Kejriwal has accepted the Missionaries of Charity's invitation to attend the sainthood ceremony of Mother Teresa in Rome's Vatican city on September 4.
Besides Kejriwal, his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee will also be attending the ceremony.
Kejriwal has close association with the Missionaries of Charity as he had worked for Mother Teresa-run NGO in 1992 before being selected for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).
Earlier in March, Pope Francis had announced that Mother Teresa would be made a saint in a canonisation ceremony on September 4 on the eve of her 19th death anniversary.
