Amrapali Express derails near Khagaria, no casualties reported

New Delhi: Seven bogies of Katiyar Amritsar Amarpali express jumped off the track near Pasraha railway station in Bihar's Khagariya district last night.

Seven coaches that went off the train include two air-conditioned sleeper coaches. The incident occurred just after the train left Pasraha satation around 1:00 am. All the passengers are safe. Routes of many important trains have been changed.

The district authorities, including the railway officers, reached the spot and launched operations to put the strayed bogies on the railway track.

"In the accident 7 coaches of train number 15707 Katiyar Amritsar Amarpali express got derailed between Katiyar and Baroni stations. There has been no casualty and injury in this accident all passengers are safe. Our accident relief trains reached at site, our senior officers and DRM they are also reached the accident site, " Railway official said.

"The incident has affected the traffic between Guwahati Dehali main line so we diverting certain trains from Katiyar to Malda to Jamalpur To Patna. Some passengers trains have been cancelled. Our cranes were reached they were working on this directions, he added.
