Akhilesh cycles away: Now what will happen to Mulayam Singh & Shivpal Yadav?

New Delhi: In a twist of faith, the Chief Minister of poll-bound Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav was allotted cycle symbol by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The constitutional body on Monday recognised the faction led by Junior Yadav as the Samajwadi Party and allotted it the 'cycle' symbol, dealing Akhilesh's father and party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav a huge blow. The Commission decided in favour of the Akhilesh-led faction after hearing both parties through their lawyers for several hours on January 13. Now, the question comes that what will happen to Mulayam Singh Yadav and his brother Shivpal Yadav? On the evening of September 13, 2016, the first signs of a transformation appeared. Sacked as the state SP chief by his father Mulayam, son and CM Akhilesh hit back with a letter of dismissal, sending his uncle Shivpal Yadav, the second most important man in his government, packing. To those who watched the Yadav family feud, Akhilesh's show of rebellion seemed unreal. Now, after Akhilesh cycles away, the political career of uncle Shivpal Yadav appears to be in jeopardy. As far as Netaji (Mulayam popularly knowns as) is concerned, he has as two options. One. To come in the folds of Akhilesh Yadav by forgiving all his "faults". Second. Contest Assembly election on his own with a separate symbol. Keeping present situation in mind, it appears that father will opt for the fist option, that is coming under the fold of his son. Meanwhile, hinting a patch-up between the two, the supporters of the Akhilesh Yadav have put a new poster showing father and son together. Senior Yadav listened, but didn't soften. He upgraded Amar as SP secretary, sacked the CM as state SP chief, and finally ordered his ouster along with Ram Gopal Yadav. Junior Yadav decided to fight back. Riding on his popularity for brand Akhilesh, he took uncle Ram Gopal's help to stage the January 1 coup, unseating Mulayam and emerging as the "Samajwadi Sultan", with the majority backing his candidature as Samajwadi Party chief. Getting a deja vu feeling, may be, Mulayam Singh Yadav loyalist Amar Singh, who has been at the forefront of the feud between the Samajwadi Party patriarch and his son Akhilesh, on Sunday, said he is leaving for London for "treatment" and will return in late March, 2017 Amar Singh said he was in London when he was “summoned” back due to developments in the SP. Now the re-entry of Amar Singh in SP appears very arduous.
