Air India makes Cancer patient made to wait for three hours at Mumbai airport

Mumbai, Maharashtra: An eighty-year-old cancer patient, Mohini Chandiramani, who was travelling from London to Kolkata, was made to wait for three long hours on a wheel chair at the Mumbai airport on Thursday. She was told by the airport officials that she delayed through customs, so flight took off. After her family made a call to Air India officials, she was able to board the flight to Kolkata. "There is no apology from Air India officials," said family. The woman's family demands investigation. This isn’t the first time that such an incident has been reported on Air India.   Air India leaves IIT-B techie’s wheelchair in India A 23-year-old Nalam, who is a spinal muscular atrophy patient, faced a massive shock when Air India had not transported his battery-operated wheelchair on-board. Techie’s problem keeps him from walking, and uses a motorised wheelchair to commute. On February 12, when Nalam landed at the John F Kennedy international airport in New York, he was in for a shock as Air India had not transported his battery-operated wheelchair on-board. Moreover, the vehicle was held back by the security staff in New Delhi without any prior information or notification.
