Agra-Lucknow Expressway may remain close on Oct 23, 24

New Delhi [India] Oct 21 ANI: Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has written a letter to Unnao District Magistrate asking to stop use of Agra-Lucknow Expressway for public on October 23 and 24 in light of Indian Air Force (IAF) Highway Flying operation.

IAF is planning to conduct Highway Flying operations on October 24 on airstrip of Agra Lucknow Expressway, situated in state's Unnao district.

"It is to bring to your notice that due to Diwali vacation, lot of traffic is moving on the expressway. Hence keeping in view the convenience to expressway users, it is proposed to stop use of Expressway for general public from 10:00 am on October 23 to 2:00 pm on October 24," the UPEIDA said in the letter.

The authority has also asked the District Magistrate to make necessary arrangements for the traffic and to deploy sufficient police force on October 24 to ensure safe flying operations.

"Necessary coordination and help may also be sought from District administration and Police Force of Kanpur Nagar and Lucknow to ensure smooth flow of traffic," the letter further read.(ANI)
