Pakistan mutilates bodies of two Indian soldiers, Army vows strong retaliation

New Delhi:  In an "unsoldierly" act, bodies of two Indian soldiers were mutilated by the Pakistan Army which violated ceasefire along the Line of Control this morning in Poonch sector. Issuing a statement on Twitter, the Indian Army, said, a Border Action Team was launched by Pakistan on a patrol operating between two posts. Two soldiers were killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistan. The Army warned of "appropriate response" for the  "despicable act. STATEMENT OF ARMY Pak army carried out unprovoked rocket and mortar firing on two forward posts on the line of control in Krishna Ghati Sector. Simultaneously a BAT action was launched on a patrol operating in between the two posts. In an unsoldierly act by the Pak Army the bodies of two of our soldiers in the patrol were mutilated. Such despicable act of Pakistan Army will be appropriately responded.   PM Narendra Modi was briefed about the situation.  Three jawans are also said to be injured in the heavy firing.  An army jawan from the JCO, a BSP soldier were killed in the attack. The exchange of fire was stalled till reports last came in. India has repeatedly rejected Pakistan's allegations of rights violations in Kashmir. Pakistan has breached the truce eight times within a month. They were deployed on an FDL in Mendhar area." Pakistan had broken the ceasefire in the same sector on 19th and 8th of last month, in Poonch district on April 5, in Bhimbher Gali (BG) sector on April 4 and twice on April 3 in Balakote and Poonch sectors. There were four violations of the ceasefire along the LoC in Poonch in March. (WATCH ABP NEWS' VIDEO REPORT BELOW) “In 2016 there were 228 instances of ceasefire violation along the LoC, while there were 221 instances of ceasefire violation along the International Border (IB),” a report by newsagency said. The ceasefire violation comes a day after Pakistan's army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Line of Control. He said his country would continue to support the "political struggle" of the Kashmiris for the right of "self-determination". Bajwa, who toured the areas in the Haji Pir sector. He accused India of "state-sponsored" terrorism in Kashmir. Pakistan on November 26 appointed General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the country's powerful new chief of army staff, the prime minister's office said. / AFP PHOTO / SS MIRZA According to PTI, Bajwa alleged that India was not only involved in aggression against the people in Kashmir but also against the people living on the Pakistani side of the LoC and the Working Boundary. He also said that in ‘desperation’, India is targeting innocent people in Kashmir, reports The Nation. During the visit, he was also briefed about the operational preparation of Pakistan army along the LoC.
