ABP News impact: CBSE files FIR against New Saraswati House publisher for '36-24-36 perfect figure' shocker

New Delhi: On Saturday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has registered an FIR against a publisher after receiving complaints over a Class XII book saying that "36-24-36" is the best figure for females. CBSE Physical Education book has a chapter enlisting how 36-24-36 is the ideal figure for women. For men it said the 'V' shape is considered the best. To validate the 'point', the chapter also includes examples of women who won beauty pageants like the Miss World and Miss Universe. Under Section 6 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, the case has been registered. The news was shown on ABP News Channel. The Board, in its clarification, issued a statement stating that it had not prescribed the book. The textbook titled 'Health and Physical Education' by Dr V.K. Sharma is published by a New Delhi based publishing house, New Saraswati House (India) Pvt. Ltd.
