ABP News-CVoter Bihar snap poll: Majority backs Nitish Kumar’s decision to rejoin NDA, expected Tejashwi Yadav to resign

NEW DELHI: Nitish Kumar yet again took over as chief minister of Bihar with BJP's support today, leaving the grand alliance in disarray and posing serious doubts over its capability to crush the BJP-led NDA in 2019 general elections. Following the political crisis that loomed in Bihar since Wednesday evening, ABP News and C-Voter conducted a snap poll to gauge the opinion of the people of Bihar. When asked the respondents about who they felt was responsible for the split with the JD-U and RJD, a massive 74.1% of them blamed Lalu Prasad Yadav. Twenty four percent believe Nitish is to be blamed. Political experts believe he has accepted that the Modi-wave would continue even after two years with the Mahagathbandhan being left with no chance. However, many beyond the political fraternity have termed it a smart move demonstrating his political maneuverability. According to the survey, 71% of the respondents have backed Nitish’s decision to ally with BJP while 27.5% do not support his move. Nitish Kumaron Wednesday said since Tejashwi did not provide any explanation to the allegations, it become difficult for him to run the grand alliance government. With the corruption allegations marring Tejashwi Yadav image, an 83.15% of the surveyed lot believe he should have tendered his resignation while around a 15% feel the opposite. When asked about it, 37% of the respondents felt YES while 55% of them felt Modi had no role to play in it.
