Aamir Khan, wife Kiran Rao diagnosed with swine flu

MUMBAI: Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao were diagnosed with H1N1 virus, commonly known as swine flu, the actor said on Sunday. In a Pani Foundation event in Pune, Aamir through video conferencing confirmed that he and his wife are suffering from swine flu and undergoing treatment at home. Aamir and Kiran were to attend the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup Awards but skipped it on being detected with the virus. Shah Rukh Khan had attended the event. "It's a happy day but we are very sad... because after working so hard for a year, when the time came for us to celebrate with you, we got this illness. And the disease we are suffering from is one which spreads rapidly. It's called H1N1 or swine flu in common usage," the 52-year-old actor said in a video message. "The problem with swine flu is if I go anywhere, I will give it to other people so we have been forced to stay at home for a week. And that is why we can't be there with you and we're very sad about it."   Frequent cases of Swine Flu have been reported in Maharashtra since last month. According to a leading website, around 300 people have died under influence of swine flu this year.
