1334 people in flood-affected Assam, Bihar, UP rescued by NDRF till now

New Delhi [India], August 17 (ANI): 119 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have till now rescued 1334 people, evacuated 35000 people and 142 livestock from flood affected areas of Assam, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Flood situation in these states is worsening as rivers flowing through the regions are still out-breaking.

NDRF teams, along with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the Army are continuously engaged in Rescue and Relief operations with full zeal and commitment in various flood prone areas across the country.

The natural calamity in Bihar has claimed more than 70 lives whereas death toll in Assam has crossed 100.

The situation is so grim in the affected regions that it had rendered lakhs of people homeless and has forced them to land up in relief camps. The floods have affected the train services, damaged crops, left thousand stranded in states and has seized normalcy completely. (ANI)
