That's how Xiaomi will FAIL to fulfill your expectations!

New Delhi: What is the first thought when you chose a phone? The features, specifications and its memory? Is it? Naturally, there are other factors as well and that differ from person to person according to their requirements.  Some people blindly trust established brands like Nokia, Samsung and Sony but it’s difficult to rely on new entrants in the market as far as customer trust and dependency is concerned. Today, we talk about Xiaomi, a privately owned Chinese electronics company which was founded on April 6, 2010. Like any company, it also promised complete customer satisfaction. Well, MI 4 has been doing well in the market. But since MI 5 was launched, there are a couple of problems that are irking the customers.  Starting from network not being available, to a phone too slippery, customers are not too happy with this set except for the sleek look that it carries. Some customers are actually complaining about the poor service of MI 5. That's how Xiaomi will FAIL to fulfill your expectations! Xiaomi’s MI5 screen becomes inactive within two months of purchase; no support from the company There are issues that are irking many MI5 customers now and issues so silly that they regret spending money on the phones.  Here’s a case study. “Only a few days back, when my phone was ringing, I tried putting it on silent mode. Immediately, the phone displayed a color bar pattern and went on airplane mode. Since that very day, the phone’s screen is not working and it’s not even turning off. I didn’t understand the reason for the same as the phone didn’t even fall down for even a bit. When I contacted the nearest MI service centre, they said that the screen is damaged and it will take around Rs.8000 for the screen replacement. Also, they can’t replace the phone addressing a minor scratch as a DENT even when the phone was under warranty! It was just two months of purchasing the phone and a silly problem like this came up. Also, I couldn’t believe that I have to spend 8000 more after spending Rs25,000 on a phone without even a fault of mine! The representatives kept politely telling me that I have to pay 8000 more or nothing can be done. I tried going again at another service center and they told me the same. I am very dissatisfied by the kind of ‘support’ that MI has bestowed upon its customers and there is absolutely no cooperation from their side. I wish I hadn’t purchased it in the first place,” says Manan, who bought the phone only after two days of its launch. Many customers also complained about the heating issues that they experienced with the handset. Even when the phone was not on charging, there are times when the phone gets heated on its own. Rish, another customer says, “Got MI5 and within a few days, problem with on off button. Got it changed 1 to 1 and 2nd set was worst. Screen hangs and same button issue. Dropped by repair center and they did a factory reset and was asked to monitor. No use... didn't solve the issue. What bad product have I got for myself. Now have to be busy going to service centre for changing the motherboard.” That's how Xiaomi will FAIL to fulfill your expectations! That’s not all. Here’s another complaint by a customer. “Please don't go for this phone. I got this phone 2 months before and it stopped working after a month. I can’t get replacement as it is more than a month. I had to wait for 2 weeks to get the motherboard replaced. From yesterday, phone started vibrating continuously and i had to do factory restore to stop the vibration. There are serious issues with hardware and software of this model and service for this phone is really pathetic. I heard many complaints about MI5 from my friends as well.” The camera and other specs are great but what is their use if that only works for two months? Many customers say that if you don’t put a cover or a bumper, the phone is bound to fall on the floor as its back is slippery and the phone is prone to scratches. Well, if this the kind of support Xiaomi as a company is offering, it may lose its customers soon!
