New Delhi: It seems that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started its preparation for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
At his residence, BJP party president Amit Shah has met MP Varun Gandhi and Maneka Gandhi. The meeting took place for nearly half an hour.
Sources said that this time the saffron party would project CM candidate during the election campaign, unlike the other state elections.
The party has already faced huge criticism for not projecting its Chief Ministerial faces during the state elections and some belief that this could be the reason for its weak performance in recently held Bihar state elections in which Nitish Kumar and his alliance swept the poll.
It is pertinent to mention here that in 2017 there will be assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. The state plays an important role in shaping the national policies as it sends 80 MPs in the parliament which has a total strength of 543.
