Ranchi/New Delhi: A Delhi Court on Sunday granted Jharkhand Police three-days transit remand of Congress MLA Yogendra Sao, who was arrested yesterday from a slum cluster in the national capital.

Sao had been absconding after non-bailable warrants were issued against him by a Court in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand for  allegedly floating an ultra outfit.

He was arrested yesterday by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police in a joint operation with Jharkhand Police from a slum in Shakurpur area here where he was hiding out.

Jharkhand Police, therafter, moved a court here seeking his transit remand to take him back to the state.

He was arrested in connection with an FIR lodged under the Arms Act as well as for facilitating commission of crime.       The case was transferred to CID, Ranchi which had received information that Sao, in order to evade the police dragnet, was hiding in Delhi, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand said.
