Vishal Sikka resigns as Infosys MD and CEO

New Delhi [India], August 18 (ANI): Vishal Sikka has resigned as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Infosys Ltd. with immediate effect.

U.B. Pravin Rao has been appointed as the interim-managing director and chief executive, whereas Sikka has now been appointed as executive vice-chairman.

Infosys, in a statement to the stock markets, said that the Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Sikka.

"The succession plan for appointment of a new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer has been operationalised by the Board and a search for the same has been commenced," the statement read.

Sikka has over 30 years of experience, adding that since joining Infosys in 1986, he has held a number of senior leadership roles including Head of Infrastructure Management Services, Delivery Head for Europe, and Head of Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Logistics and Life Sciences. (ANI)
