Muthoot Group, Centum Foundation to provide skill development training in Haryana

New Delhi [India], July 19 (ANI): The Muthoot Group, one of India's leading business conglomerates with a family business legacy of over 800 years and financial services arm of over 130 years, launched its Muthoot Skill India project in association with Centum Foundation, the CSR arm of Centum Learning, a Bharti Group company, to impart employability linked skill development training to the underprivileged youth in Haryana.

The first Muthoot Skill India Centre was also inaugurated on the same day in Tigaon Village of Faridabad. The centre has been built in an area of over 4000 sq. ft. and is equipped with all state- of the -art equipment required for conducting trainings.

Under the project, free of cost skill training will be provided to 500 underprivileged individuals in courses like Sewing Machine Operator, Call Centre Executive and General Duty (GD) Assistant/Nursing Assistant in the villages of Faridabad.

Muthoot Skill India aims to make these individuals self-reliant as it will not only impart employable skills to them but also facilitate wage employment as well as self-employment. Those opting for self-employment will be assisted in starting their own businesses. The project also aims at encouraging entrepreneurship and thereby contributing in the national cause of make in India.

"I am very happy to announce our Muthoot Skill India project under which we will set-up Skill Development Centres to provide vocational training to the economically weaker sections of the society. This initiative is an important part of The Muthoot Group's larger vision of enriching lives of the masses while contributing back to the society. This project is also special to us because it supports and strengthens our commitment to the growth of our nation," said chairman The Muthoot Group, M G George Muthoot.

Such partnerships would help achieve the vision of bringing sustainable transformation in the country's prevailing employment scenario," said MD and CEO Centum Learning, Sanjay Bahl.

Since its inception, The Muthoot Group has been providing quick and easy finance to the underserved and unbanked masses of the society and this initiative of the company furthers its objective of facilitating Sustainable Financial Inclusion across rural and semi urban areas of the country.

The Muthoot Group decided to join hands with Centum Foundation, a part of skilling major Centum Learning, owing to its vast experience in the domain for over a decade across 15 countries. Centum is the largest partner of the National Skill Development Council (NSDC). (ANI)
