New Delhi: Normally we see such crowd only outside any temple or ‘Tatkal’ ticket window in Delhi but last night the national capital witnessed this scene outside all the stores where Apple’s newly launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were available for sale.

All the six models of iPhone 6 series are available across retail stores from Friday, therefore buyers started gathering outside the stores from midnight.

The US tech major Apple's new iPhone series is available for sale in India at starting price of Rs 53,500 while the high-end model is worth Rs 80,500.

“We are getting very good response and we have delivered 150 phones witihin first few hours of after beginning of sale”, Rahul Gupta, an owner of mobile showroom at Noida said. However, they have booked over 300 units and could not deliver all the phones due to shortage.

Buyers looked very excited on the night and therefore they were ready to stand in a queue just to buy this new device which has already witnessed millions worldwide customers.

Sahil, a buyer who booked three iPhones 6 10-day back, could buy only two sets as there is heavy shortage of the phone in market.

“I am still waiting for the stock so I can buy the third one,” Sahil asserted.  (WATCH video on the top carousal for video byte )

Both-- iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available in three variants in terms of storage: 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.

“It’s excitement to buy a phone at midnight specially when I have been a fan of Apple,” an iPhone 6 buyer from Mumbai said.

In the beginning, for iPhone 6 16 GB, price is Rs 53,500, iPhone 6 64 GB for Rs 62,500, iPhone 6 128 GB will be for Rs 71,500.

“We are not getting enough stock, demand is very high which has disappointed many people visiting our shop in last few hours,” the shop owner said.

"The three iPhone 6 plus models has been priced at Rs 62,500, 71,500 and Rs 80,500 respectively," an authrised partner of the Apple said in a statement.

For Indian business, the company has authorised Redington, Ingram Micro, Rashi Peripherals and Reliance as their distributors.

The phone is bigger, slimmer and smarter than the last one of the iPhone series, a happy iPhone buyer told us last night after successfully buying the phone.

The official price of iPhone 6 is lower compared to the price at which vendors at e-commerce sell.

Interestingly, the iphone 6 series in India is priced about 10 to 20 per cent higher in comparison to its retail price in US.

One of the authorised distributors Ingram Micro started pre-booking of latest iPhone 6 series from October 7.

The two models of the iPhone 6 series are different in terms of their size. The iPhone 6 has 4.7 inch screen while iPhone 6 plus has 5.5 inch display.

Both the models have 8 megapixel camera and 1.2 Mp front camera.

To counter the phone, Samsung has already launched Note 4 which can give competition to iPhone 6 series. (Watch video below for more specifications)
