Vespa 946 India launch postponed to next month

NEW DELHI : Last week, Piaggio announced the launch of its exclusive Vespa 946 Emporio Armani in India on October 25, 2016. However, the company has postponed the launch to early next month i.e. November 2016. The reason for this change in the launch plan is not clear yet. However, the good news is that the company is also bringing the standard version along with the limited edition model. The price of the prior is expected to be around Rs 8 lakh while the latter could cost you near Rs 10 lakh in the country. The Italian automaker has already displayed the Vespa 946 in India at the 2014 Auto Expo while its Emporio Armani edition was displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo. The unique masterpiece is an example of the Italian marque's retro classic designing strategy. The name evokes history of the company in the sense that it tells the year Vespa was born in - 1946. Powering the Vespa 946 is a fuel-injected, 125cc, 3-valve engine, that produces 11.9PS of power and a peak torque of 10.3Nm, and comes mated to a CVT automatic transmission. Despite representing the heritage of the iconic automaker, it comes blessed with advanced features like ABS braking and ASR traction control systems. Now, we are waiting for the company to release a new launch date for the Vespa 946 and its Emporio Armani edition which are going to be exclusive collectors edition offerings in India.
