Triumph has been selling scrambler kits for the Bonneville for some time now, but it did not have a dedicated Scrambler model in India. Until now. With the Street Scrambler, Triumph now has the entire modern classic range in India, which consists of a classic (Boneville T100, T120), cafe racer (Thruxton R), bobber (Bonneville Bobber) and a street naked (Street Twin).

The Street Scrambler is based on the Street Twin and gets revisions to make it capable off-road. It gets off-road bits like rubber fuel tank grip pads, a split seat with a detachable pillion seat pad, high-rise handlebars, side-mounted high-set exhaust pipes, off-road footpegs and underbody bash plate. The ergonomics allow you to stand comfortably, a requisite for riding off-road. The seat height has increased to 790mm, up 40mm on the Street Twin. The 206kg kerb weight is up by 8 kilos. Fuel tank capacity is 12 litres.

The front suspension is KYB 41 mm forks with 120mm of travel and KYB twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload and 120mm of rear wheel travel. The front wheel is 19-inches while the rear is 17-inches, both shod with Metzeler Tourance dual purpose off-road tyres.

The engine is a 900cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin borrowed from the Street twin and makes the same 55PS and 80Nm of torque. The bike gets ride-by-wire along with switchable traction control.
