Maruti Ignis to get a CVT automatic gearbox

New Delhi: Ignis, the much awaited upcoming hatchback of Maruti Suzuki is likely to get a CVT automatic gearbox. Similar to Baleno, Maruti plans to offer the CVT option only for the Petrol variants of Ignis. Maruti Ignis will be available in both Petrol and Diesel engine options which include a 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Transmission for both the engines will be offered by a 5-speed Manual gearbox while the CVT gearbox will be opted only for the Petrol engine as mentioned above. Ignis is a compact crossover with a neat design featuring rich and spacious interiors. The car is roomy on the inside featuring spacious comfortable seats, good rear legroom, neatly designed dashboard with a modern tablet and a retro air-con controller and an all-new steering. Maruti will launch the Ignis in India around the festive season of this year at an expected price tag of 4.5 to 7 lakhs. The new hatchback will be sold through Maruti’s premium dealership NEXA.
