Hyundai Creta to cross 80000 unit sales in India

New Delhi: Hyundai Creta, the compact SUV, is all set to cross 80000 unit sales within just a year, since its launch. Launched in July 2015, a total of 78,857 units have been sold till May 2016. The bookings have already gone beyond the 1 lakh mark within just eight months, ever since its launch in India. The SUV has won the hearts of buyers and enthusiasts, through its aesthetic design, impressive performance and premium features. Built with Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), the Creta sports the Hyundai’s “Fluidic Structure 2.0” design, with the hexagonal chrome-grille, voluminous bumper, headlamps, fog lamps and tail lights that render a premium luxury look. The dual tone interior is ergonomic and spacious, equipped with 6-airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Static Bending Lights (SBL), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), etc. for added safety. There are both petrol and diesel variants in three trims with the Hyundai Creta. The 1.6-liter Gamma VTVT petrol engine generates 121 bhp and 151 Nm of torque, while the 1.4-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine delivers only 89 bhp and 220Nm of torque. The other diesel engine, the 1.6-litre CRDi, powers up to 126 bhp and 259 Nm of torque. Earlier, the 6-speed automatic transmission was available only with the 1.6-liter diesel version. However, Hyundai gave into the huge demand from the customers and came up with a 1.6-liter petrol engine that could churn out 122 bhp and 154 Nm of torque. This petrol engine came mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. With good sales, the waiting period too has gone high for the Creta. Customers are now waiting well over six months to get their Creta delivered. Besides the 10000 units per month already produced by Hyundai, the Korean automaker will add another 20 percent soon to speed up delivery to ease waiting periods. Source-vicky.in
