Hyundai compact SUV to be launched in 2019

  New Delhi: Hyundai plans to launch a new Compact SUV in India in the first half of 2019. This will be the manufacturer's new entry-level SUV and it will stand next to Creta in position. Hyundai first exposed its views to develop a sub-4 meter SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo in Noida, where it unveiled a concept called Carlino. The new SUV might use some of the designs from the Carlino concept, though the same will most probably be given strength and firmness to suit production requirements. The main reason for the launch of SUV segment is the growing need of SUV’s in India Says the Hyundai. The company has already disclosed the third-gen Tucson in the country and it stands between the Creta and the Santa Fe. With the introduction of new SUV, the Korean automaker’s SUV will be increased to 4 models in the country. Upcoming compact SUV’s details have not been given yet but according to some sources it is said that Hyundai might use a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 110 - 120 BHP to power it and a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine that is available with the Elite i20, Verna and Creta may be used with compact SUV also.
