Honda Navi Crosses 10,000 Sales Within Two Months
Honda Navi, the unconventional motorcycle-scooter crossover, has caught the fancy of the youth of India. Launched at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, the freakish-looking bike has crossed the 10,000 unit sales mark, within two months of its availability in the Indian market.
The Honda Navi is built indigenously in India from concept to production by the Honda R&D India. The milestone of 10,000 bookings within two months is celebrated by the Honda, as they look forward to making the bike available in more cities across India. The bookings too seem to be constantly on the rise.
Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “We are delighted with the overwhelming response for Navi from customers, especially from urban trend setting youth. Unconventional design, looks and endless possibilities of customization, make owning Navi a FUNtastic experience.”
He also added, “The unique appeal has made it a rage in the 2Wheeler industry. While we celebrate 10,000 units of Navi and expand the Navi phenomenon to new cities, the number of bookings are increasing. Navi is a 3 in one package with the ride feel of a motorcycle, comfort of a scooter and fun of a customized creation - if that is not Navi-lution then what?"
Besides the unconventional, freakish, quirky and fun look of the Honda Navi, everything seems to have gone right for the Honda Navi including its 109 cc engine that makes 8 PS at 7000 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 8.96 Nm at 5500 rpm. With 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels, the brake is a drum-type braking unit. The tyres are tubeless.
The price of the Honda Navi is Rs. 39,648 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Honda Navi is also touted to be a bike suitable for the Indian city traffic and roads, which seems to go true by its looks and engine specs. Besides the crossover design, the bike seems to be one of utility, which is why it probably attracted customers in a short period.
The Honda Navi is currently available in five colors: Patrior Red, Hopper Green, Shasta white, Sparky Orange and Sparky Black
