Check Out Tata Nexon Geneva Edition

Tata Motors showcased its first compact SUV, the Nexon at the 2016 Auto Expo in New Delhi last year. The upcoming compact SUV has already been spotted testing in the country and is expected to be introduced by the end of this year with prices likely to hover around the Rs 7 lakh mark. Tata already revealed the engine specifications and few other details of the Nexon in 2016. However, now, the Indian automaker has showcased the Nexon Geneva Edition at the ongoing 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Further details regarding the compact SUV have also been revealed. Let's have a look at it.

The first difference you notice between the Nexon showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and the one unveiled at the Geneva Motor show is the colour difference. While the one in the Delhi was blue, the one in the Geneva is red. Also, Nexon Geneva Edition has 17-inch alloy wheels compared to the 16-inch on the earlier one. It follows Tata’s IMPACT design philosophy and features a large front grille, projector headlamps with daytime running lights and LED taillamps.

Tata already revealed in 2016 that the upcoming Nexon will feature a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with power figure of 110 PS and 260Nm. However, Tata has now announced the dimension of the Nexon. It is 3995mm long, 1811.4mm wide and 1607.4mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2498mm and sports a fuel tank of 44 litres. For reference, the popular Maruti Vitara Brezza is exactly same in length but its wheelbase is slightly longer by 2mm compared to the Nexon.

Features

The Nexon Geneva Edition does come loaded with features. It has premium materials in its interiors and ergonomically placed bottle and cup holders, multiple utility spaces, handbag hangers, laptop and iPad trays. It also comes with rear AC vents and automatic climate control. The dashboard has a touch-screen infotainment system designed by Harman that features voice command recognition and can be connected to a host of smartphone applications. In terms of safety, it has dual front airbags, advanced dual-path suspension, ISOFIX child seat mounts and 9th generation ABS with EBD with Corner Stability Control.

We are not sure which of the above mentioned features will make its way to the production version in India. However, it would be quite exciting to have a fully loaded Nexon in the Indian market.
