2016 Honda Brio facelift launching today

New Delhi: After its introduction in September 2011, the Honda Brio is finally getting a refresh today. The new Brio was revealed earlier this year in Indonesia and the changes – inside and out – are expected to be more or less on the same lines. Speaking of the changes, the new Brio has a broad front fascia thanks to a redesigned sharper bumper and prominent fog lamp housing. This time, Honda drops the thick chrome slat holding its emblem and swaps it with a bigger black slat. The grille too now stretches and meets the headlamps on either side. The rear gets a single change in the form of a rear spoiler with stop lamp. All the other details remain intact. 2016 Honda Brio facelift launching today On the other hand, the Brio interior features a completely new dash, which is a straight lift from the new Amaze and the BR-V. It also takes cues from the more happening dashboards of the Jazz and the City. On the convenience front, it gets automatic climate control, new audio unit with Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming. Under the hood, the Honda hatch is likely to boast the same engine of the outgoing model – the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol mill. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, this motor pumps out 88PS of power and 109Nm of peak torque. The automatic unit of the present version is likely to be replaced by a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) box. We have separately covered a story on what all things will be coming in the new Brio. Time to see how competitively Honda prices its Brio, given its dodgy performance in its current avatar. We expect the company to price it around Rs 4.5-7.0 lakh, like the outgoing version. Let’s see if Honda has some surprises in store for us. Source: cardekho.com
